Soccer Shin Guards
What is wrong with my ankle area after I play soccer with shin guards?
So whenever i play soccer with shin guards my ankle area starts to turn red and very itchy and when i itch it it eventually turns into sores then after i itch it more it will bleed.
I know that this has a lot to do with my shin guards, but i was wondering what the problem is? My guess is that my ankle area has some kind of allergic reaction to my shin guards but im not sure?
It could be that the shin guards are rubbing against your ankles and causing irritation from the friction. Don't scratch the skin, that's obviously just making it worse. When you notice the redness and itching, cover the area with a moisturizer and don't pick at it. Also check to see if your guards could be too loose at the ankle; that would cause the guards to shift around when you're wearing them and irritate your skin.
