The best thing is to go to a library and pick up a book on coaching soccer. Websites will be looking for you to buy their videos and spend money. Libraries are free (subsidized by taxes, but that's not important).

The coaching you do depends heavily on the age of the kids. If they're under 6, just let them run around and kick the ball.

If the following three aspects of communication can be kept in mind when talking to youth soccer players, a coaches message will be heard, understood and have a lasting impact:

Tailor

Terminology

Tone

TAILOR
- It is a dynamite approach and works very well when one of your youth soccer strategies is to tailor your communications style to your team and your individual players. If your team thrives on the emotion of the moment, then show the emotion. If they seem to get nervous and be afraid to be aggressive when you get load, anxious or show your nervousness, then tone it down. In the situation where you're communicating one-on-one with a player, take them aside, keep your voice from being heard by the rest of the players, and feel free to get as emotional or as frantic or as calm as you see appropriate for that player. Of the many youth soccer strategies, this one works as well with your best players that can "take it to the next level" with some forceful direction by you, the coach, as it does with the player that you just want to encourage to "try to kick the ball at least five times this shift". Tailor your words, and your tone to your players needs. You and your team will benefit greatly.

TERMINOLOGY - Explain your strategy in terms the players understand. Be consistent with your terminology. Is the player a "forward", or a "striker", or playing "offense"? Do you want your players to "go to space" or "spread out" or "create passing lanes"? It always works best if you (and your assistant coaches) can use the same terms during the heat of game time situation that you used in practice. If your players have to pause to interpret your words, your message will not get through in a timely manner. When you and your assistant coaches are devising your youth soccer strategies, this one is a must to discuss!

TONE - Your youth soccer players are, on the whole, an excitable bunch! Constant, positive feedback will generally keep them pushing harder. Negative statements with a harsh tone can turn them off, and ruin their concentration for the remainder of the game, sometimes never to recover. If you sound desperate, anxious, nervous or even mad, the players may be at an age where they will pick up on this, and may react the wrong way. While some will sense your urgency and step-up their game, most, depending on the age, will crawl in a shell and be too afraid to make the mistake that cost the team the game. One of your strategies should be a team-appropriate tone, that isn't reacted to negatively is always the best way to communicate your soccer strategy. Yes, it can work out in a one-on-one situation, in your bag of youth soccer strategies tricks, to tell your superstar (that has yet another "level") that there is only two minutes left in the game and to pull out all the stops! But those situations are as rare as those little superstars are.

The coaches that can remember to "Tailor your Terminology with Tone" are the coaches that kids want to play for!

Soccer players (football in Europe) wear shinguards to protect their legs while playing. What is its name in french?

It's called a jambiere.

There is a lot of equipment available for soccer players who want to improve their game but cannot afford to spend a lot of money. One item any soccer player should have, and can afford, is a set of practice cones. They are very versatile in terms of how they are set up, and can be used to help improve skills in a variety of ways. Websites online offer many different suggestions for cone exercises. Weighted soccer balls are also pretty cost-efficient. There are a number of exercises you can do to improve your strength and your finesse with a soccer ball. The mirror belt, a devise that attaches you and another teammate together using a flexible cord, is a third inexpensive but valuable training devise. It allows you to do a variety of exercises which increase strength, speed, reaction time, direction change, and other skills. The versatility and applicability of these products allow you to accomplish a lot of training without buying a lot of expensive equipment.

Proper Soccer Player Accessories

Soccer is great in that it requires little basic personal equipment: just shinguards and cleats. Your shinguards should have a good, reliable fit; they should also be sturdy enough to withstand kicks, but flexible enough to move with you. Some shinguards are also great for preventing ankle injuries. If your shinguards do slip around, you can buy shinguard protection sleeves, which hold them in place without tape and do not cut off your circulation. With cleats, look for great traction, since you will be frequently playing on wet grass and mud. Goalies may also want to have soccer gloves and knee pads. Though you may not want to wear knee pads during your games, you may want to have them during practice to protect your knees as a goalkeeper. Goaltending gloves help goalies grip the ball. Though other players do not need them, gloves can be nice for throw-ins and for keeping the hands warm.

Goal Shooting Tools and Strategies

Accuracy is key when it comes to shooting soccer goals. You can choose from a variety of equipment options to help you improve your accuracy. For example, you can purchase some soccer net targets which you can attach to a goal net. These targets give you something specific to aim at, which can help increase your accuracy. The benefit to these targets is that they can be moved around, so you can improve your ability to shoot at a variety of angles into the net. Your goal is not just to perfect hitting the target, but to be able to do so from a variety of angles. You may also want to practice headers with these targets. You can also purchase more technologically advanced targets that measure the speed of your ball, so that you can improve the strength and speed of your kick along with your accuracy. Rebounding nets are a great way to maximize your practice time. Targets can be attached to these nets as well.

Strength Training for Soccer

Strength is an important but overlooked area of soccer training. Be sure to implement it in your practices. You do not have to reinvent the wheel; many typical strength training exercises used for any sport will help your soccer game. You can build strength by doing push-ups and sit-ups as well as weight lifting. Make sure to implement exercises that develop strength in your legs. Additionally, there are other tools you can use to focus on specific soccer skills. One of the most important attributes a soccer player has on the field is stamina. Try using resistance tools, such as running sleds or parachutes, as you run. Soccer players also need arm strength for maneuvering around obstacles, handling throw-ins, and tending the goal. Weighted balls are available to help you develop your strength. They should not, however, be used for kicking or heading.

Pity the damage has already been done.

He ignored 'basic law'.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/liverpool/article6880174.ece

Fifa’s Laws of the Game leave little room for interpretation in cases such as Darren Bent’s deflected goal. The direction is clear, stating that “the referee stops, suspends or abandons the match because of outside interference of any kind”.

i think dropping him is a bit harsh, the public bashing he is getting at the moment is far worse then getting dropped

What stopped any Liverpool player or a Sunderland player kicking the beachball away

Soccer does not only require physical activity, it also appeals to the emotions of others especially those with strong conviction to the game. As a result of their passion, soccer poems were written to stand as a genuine witness for the authors' love of the game.

It is apparent that both soccer players and enthusiasts were not contented just to enter the pit and play or just sit there and watch the game unfold, they also want the sport to be honored in their utmost capacity. Some players because of the admiration of the game don the game's jerseys every time they leave their homes some carry the game's ball wherever they were bound, some emulate the styles of their favorite player, especially the hairstyle and gestures, and some even uses the name of their favorite icons as their nicknames.

Some soccer enthusiasts who were not contented still of doing these things does exhibit ingenuity by writing verses like the one given below. This poem is written by a hardcore enthusiast. Just read her lines below for it clearly show everything in her.

Here is one example of so many verses or poems written by Jacinta Mary Ramayah from Malaysia;

SOCCER FEVER

When God deigns to watch soccer

He sits on the fence

While you clasp your palms in prayer

He looks askance.

The referee mouths his whistle

He rules the verdict on the field

While the player, in despair, knows

To his card, he has to yield.

The spectators scream in frenzy

And the fans ape their heroes

While the arena is ablaze

With a kaleidoscope of painted faces.

Cries of 'goal' fill the air

It's a month of living soccer

While, at last, the winners hold the Cup high

The losers gasp in disbelief and horror.

Four years of waiting has to pass

For this season to come round again

While the players run and sweat

Both punters and rookies hope to make a gain.

The poem clearly shows the author's knowledge of the game especially the World Cup for the topic is obviously speaking about the competition. Soccer poems may only be known for those who love the game but one thing is for sure, it still exhibits the feeling of the one who wrote it. Anything you write truly reflects the person you are, it is a mirror that somebody looks at when they want to know you deep inside.

i really want to know if there is a south african lottery approved by FIFA and BRITSH GAMING BOARD,?

the said lottery promotion is for the preparation of world cup 2010

NO! It is a scam designed to steal your money. Avoid it like the plague.

Account limit of 2124 requests per hour exceeded.

It is widely considered the most popular game on earth. Played by millions of people from nearly every walk of life, and in nearly every nation, soccer - football or futbol as it is commonly known beyond the borders of the United States - is a sport that can be played by nearly anyone. Aside from the skills needed to maneuver the ball using your body, but not your hands - except for the goal keeper - soccer owes much of its international appeal to the fact that all you need to play is an open space and a single ball.

The mountains of equipment needed to play other sports - like tennis, golf, baseball, American football, and so many others - are an anathema to the soccer player. It is the ball, and only the ball, that one needs to play the game. But the soccer ball is not a generic item; there are many kinds of soccer balls on the market, and each has its own characteristics that differentiate it from the other balls.

At first glance it is hard to tell one soccer ball from another. Usually constructed in the same distinctive style, the trademark pentagonal and hexagonal panels make a soccer ball instantly recognizable. However, when you are trying to tell the difference between one ball and another, the first place to start is the cover.

In the past, full grain leather was used to make a top quality soccer ball, but real leather tends to absorb water easily, and a wet ball is a heavy ball that plays much differently than it was intended to play. Today, the first quality soccer balls are constructed from synthetic leather. Although there are many variations of synthetic leather, they are generally all a derivative of polyurethane or poly vinyl chloride. The best balls - those used in competition and by professionals - are almost always made of the polyurethane construction, while inexpensive practice balls are more likely to be poly vinyl chloride.

The way the panels of the soccer ball are stitched together is another indication of the quality of the ball. A high quality ball is going to be hand stitched with polyester cord or Kevlar reinforced polyester. Hand stitching allows the panels to be sewn tighter, which makes for a stronger and longer lasting soccer ball. Second-tier soccer balls are usually stitched as well, but the stitching is done by machine so it lacks the uncompromising quality that a hand stitched ball will possess. Inexpensive balls are usually not stitched at all, and instead are held together by gluing the panels onto the lining of the ball.

Soccer balls come in different sizes as well: Size 3, Size 4, and Size 5. Size 3 balls are the smallest balls and are typically used by players under the age of eight. Size 4 balls are the next size up, and players between the ages of eight and twelve use this size of ball. Size 5 balls are the standard size for adult play and are the standard size balls for all international play.

When shopping for a soccer ball it is important to have an eye for its size and construction. If you are unsure that the ball you are considering is of good quality, look to see if the ball is approved by either FIFA or NFHS. FIFA, Fédération Internationale de Football Association, and NFHS, the National Federation of State High School Association, both approve balls that meet the strict specifications that are outlined by each organization. If you purchase a ball that is approved by either governing body then you are almost assured of a ball that is of high quality in both construction and performance.

Indoor soccer shoes are very functional and fashionable. When we talk about soccer shoes we think of studs and soccer boots. Soccer shoes has two different types, the outdoor soccer shoes which is commonly used by soccer players at field and the turf shoes which is used for playing indoor or during the winter. The shoes can also be used by men and women during training.

What makes artificial turf footwear special is that it can be use for playing and it can also be use as sneakers as well. Why an indoor soccer shoes? It's because the sole has a better grip for indoor surfaces and makes you control your moves. It may look like a plain sneakers but it is really designed for indoor soccer.

The main difference between turf soccer shoes and firm ground soccer shoes is its cleats. Turf shoes have small cleats to lower the pressure of hard field conditions for your foot and its very light. Firm Ground Soccer Shoes on the other hand have a molded cleat for firm or hard ground conditions. Besides being affordable turf shoes has the best quality and much more improved.

Companies that manufacture this product include Puma, Adidas, Nike and Lotto. If you think these shoes are just the same as sneakers, you are wrong for they perform better than sneakers. This shoe indeed is a best buy because it is very functional and has a fashion statement as well. Anybody can wear it not just the soccer players but for those soccer players wannabe.

How Can i make my hockey jerseys bigger?

I just got a new chest protector. i'm a goalie. I play for a rep team so we have a home and away jersys. I can't seem to fit my jersey on very well, so i asked our team manager if i could get another set, and he said no. so now i need a way to stratech out my jerseys. any ideas?

Obviously your team manager is a dolt. If your goalie isnt comfy out there how many games are you going to loose because of it? There are jerseys for the team and then there are special jersey's for the goalie. Goalie jerseys come bigger and the armpit area of the shirt is alot wider. I used the biggest shirt I could find. You'd be suprized how many times you make an armpit save or a save when your arms are down by your sides and your oversized shirt acted like a pocket of a glove. Plus you have to be comfortable out there. Maybe you can find or take them to a seamstress to alter them to open up the armpit area and also add material to the jerseys?

Account limit of 2124 requests per hour exceeded.

The way to play the game is to pass the ball through a marked area known as the goal which is a net supported by two poles. The ball used in the game is spherical in shape and is not too big neither too small in size.

In the 11 players there is also a goal keeper whose job is to defend their side of the team by not allowing the ball to pass through the goal posts. The game rules does not specify any positions of the players else than the goalkeeper.

The teams can make their own strategies by positioning the remaining 10 players at any point of the ground boundaries. The ball can only be touched by the feet, the head or sometimes the chest of the body.

If the ball touches the hand, it is considered a foul and suitable advantage is given to the opponent team for the foul. The game is won by the team which is able to score the most goals at the end of the time limits. The time limit for the game is divided into two parts for a total of 90 minutes and each of 45 minutes.

In between there is a small break for the refreshment and relaxation of players. In one half one, team is awarded the ball in their possession and in the next round the ball is awarded to the other team so that the justice is maintained to some extent through this procedure.

The football game is administered by an international body known as Fédération Internationale de Football Association but is more commonly recognized by its short form FIFA. The football has a very famous event which is held every four years known as the FIFA world cup.

Hundreds of thousands of people come to see this event and many times the attendance for the world cup matches is more than the number of people attending the Olympic Games.

The game of soccer/football is played by passing the ball inside the team while trying to approach the opponent's goal post and score one for the team.

As the game requires continuous running and other agility maneuvers during the 45 min single break less game play, the players need to have a very fit and agile body. Their stamina level also needs to be high so that they may not get tired during the 45 min period.

If a player gets injured during the game, there is an option to substitute the player for another one. There are about 5 players in reserve thus making the whole team of 16 people out of which 5 can be substituted.

There is also a choice of changing a player without a reason. If a player is not playing well, the coach can choose to substitute that player with another one. But substitution occurs after a foul and not in between the normal game.

If at the end of the time limit, each team has the same number of goals, the game can then be decided by the penalty shootouts. There are 5 chances given to each team and only the goalkeeper and a single player from the team can come at a time.

The player hits the ball and the goalkeeper tries to defend the goal. The team at the end to have the most goals wins the match.

It's sure that you are equipped with every single secret to effectively coach youth soccer after you finish reading this. Coaching kids about soccer is no rocket science but yes, it requires skill, knowledge, and a lot of patience. To teach youth soccer, what follows are well-known tactics. If you apply them sincerely, you team will come out as a match winner.

Motivate them to learn: You know it but how do you identify the best way to do it? Guide the players to make a choice on their own and if they make wrong choices, let go. Through this exercise, you are encouraging the kids to be more creative and most importantly, have fun.

Give every team a name: Make small teams from among the players for its convenient management. It's also a good idea to name the teams for inculcating a feeling of closeness.

Evaluate failures and success: Define the standards against which the performance would be measured to coach youth soccer. Some rules to understand this are whether the kids are enjoying the sessions. Are the kids enjoying soccer or playing as a team? Are the players learning the skill of passing, dribbling, and dealing with the ball?

Give incentives: These keep the kids going and even the advanced players, for that matter. However, the rewards don't need to be huge. Like one extra half hour's break for the winner team or permitting them to leave early. And avoid giving rewards for individual performance. This is for the reason that some players will always outshine the other players. In its place, reward entire team's efforts.

Managing poor performance: It's important in teaching soccer to carefully manage individual's poor performance affecting the entire team. For example, confront the player who regularly comes late for the sessions. Have him perform a simple act as a punishment to make others aware of such mistakes.

Similarly, parents who tend to interfere in the team's activities should also be handled like this. Do not allow that and set the record straight. As a coach, be responsible to make decisions for the team. Yet, parent's participation is also necessary to a certain level.

Become the leader: Because you are seen as a mentor, it is possible that everything you do is replicated by the players. So be sure of your demeanor in public. Be good and courteous to your colleagues, opposite team, and fellow team members. Get to the sports ground for practice sessions prior to the players. Never criticize the referee or the players when in a practice match.

Trust me, the day you start using these tips to coach youth soccer, your team will achieve great success in no time, in both training sessions and real matches.
